South Carolina Ranks #31 In Business

All fifty states were scored by CNBC on 40 different measures of business competitiveness.  States received points based on their rankings in each category pictured below.  Then, CNBC weighted the categories based on how frequently each is cited in state economic development marketing materials.  South Carolina comes in at #31, six positions better than in 2009. 

South Carolina scored very high in two specific categories:  1) Cost of Doing Business; and 2) Workforce.  These rankings are attractive for both new SC start-up's and expanding SC small businesses .
